Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 August 2026

The short version. We do not ask you for your name, your email address or any account details, because this site has no sign up form and no login. We measure how many people visit each page and how many click through, using a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not set advertising cookies. When you click a link to a seller, you leave this site and that seller's own privacy policy takes over.

1. Who we are

This policy covers the website at goesyourway.com, operated by Goes Your Way ("we", "us", "our").

2. What we do not do

We think it is more useful to start here, because it is most of the answer.

  • We do not ask for or store your name, email address, postal address or phone number. There is no newsletter, no account, no contact form and no login on this site.
  • We do not take payments and we never see your card details. All purchases happen on a seller's own website.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information for money, and we never have.
  • We do not build advertising profiles about you or run our own advertising cookies on this site.
  • We do not knowingly collect anything from children.

3. What we do collect

Page analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It is designed to measure traffic without identifying individuals: it does not set advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. What it records is limited to things like which page was viewed, the referring source, and coarse technical details such as country, browser type and whether the device is a phone or a desktop.

To avoid counting the same person twice, it works out a one-way scrambled value from your IP address and browser type. That value cannot be turned back into your IP address, and we never see your IP address in the analytics we read. We are telling you because that calculation starts from an IP address, and we would rather describe it than leave it out.

Clicks on outbound links

When you click a link to a seller, we record that a click happened, which page it happened on, and which position on the page the link sat in. This tells us whether a page is useful. It is a counter, not a profile: it is not tied to a name, an email address or an account, because we hold none of those.

Two technical details, because they are easy to leave out and we would rather not. The measurement that records the click also sends the full web address of the page you were on, including anything after the question mark, and the address of the page that sent you here. If you arrived from an advertisement, the web address will usually contain a code the advertising platform added to identify the click, so that code goes to our analytics provider too.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability. That is a normal part of running a website on the internet.

4. Cookies and similar technology

We do not use cookies to advertise to you or to follow you around the web.

Two things are worth knowing, because they are outside our control:

  • Advertising click identifiers. If you arrive here from an advertisement, the advertising platform may add a tracking code to the web address, and it may set or read its own cookies in your browser under its own policy. That is the platform's activity, governed by the platform's privacy policy, not ours.
  • Affiliate tracking. When you click through to a seller, the affiliate network that pays our commission records the click so the sale can be credited to us. That happens on the network's systems, under its policy, once you have left this site.

If we ever add advertising or conversion measurement tools of our own to this site, we will update this page and name them here before or at the time we do it.

5. Who receives data when you visit

WhoWhyWhat they receive
VercelHosting and page analyticsYour IP address and request details; the page-view and click counts described above; the full page address including any advertising click code; and the address of the page that referred you
Google FontsThe typefaces this site is set inYour IP address and browser details, because the font files load from Google's servers
Affiliate networks and sellersTo credit a click and a sale to usWhat your browser sends when you follow a link to them, which includes the full address of the page you clicked from, plus the tracking code that identifies us as the referrer
Advertising platformsTo measure their own advertisementsWhatever their own click identifiers and cookies collect, under their own policies

We do not give any of these parties a list of our visitors, because we do not have one.

6. When you leave this site

This is the most important part of this policy. When you click a link to a seller, you are on a different company's website. What that company collects, how it uses it, what cookies it sets and what it does at checkout are entirely its own business, described in its own privacy policy, and we have no visibility into it and no control over it.

Please read the privacy policy of any website you buy from. It governs your purchase, not this page.

7. Why we are allowed to do this

We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding whether our pages work and in keeping the site secure and available. We do not rely on consent for the analytics described above, because it does not identify you and does not track you across other sites. Where the law where you live requires consent for something, we will ask for it before doing that thing.

8. How long we keep things

Aggregated analytics are kept for as long as they are useful for comparing performance over time, and they are counts rather than records about a person. Hosting logs are kept on our provider's standard retention schedule. Since we hold no accounts and no contact details, there is no personal profile of you here to delete.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information a business holds about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be treated differently for exercising any of those rights.

We want to be straight with you about what that means here: because we do not collect names, email addresses or account information, we normally hold nothing that identifies you. If you write to us and ask, we will tell you honestly what we hold, which in almost every case will be nothing about you personally.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the past twelve months. We also do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

We will honour any request the law gives you, within the time the law allows, and you may use an authorised agent. In practice there is almost never anything to act on, because we do not hold information that identifies you.

10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because we do not track visitors across other websites, there is nothing here for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. We honour those signals in the sense that our behaviour already matches what they ask for.

11. Children

This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and there is no form or account on this site through which a child could give us any.

12. Where your data is handled

This site is hosted in the United States and the service providers listed above operate there. If you visit from outside the United States, the technical data described here will be handled in the United States.

13. Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection. No website can promise perfect security, but the honest mitigation here is that we hold very little: there is no customer database on this site to breach.

14. Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If a change is significant, such as adding a tracking tool, we will say so clearly on this page.
